Default Better then art of shaving or C O Bigelow

As in the title I have the ocean kelp for Aos and the co big creams. I have been wet shaving with a muhle r106 and waiting on my first straight (ralf aust). Is there anything out there better to use or is it just personal preference when it comes to creams.

    I really like C O BIGELOW.
    The rest is personal preference.
The good thing is you can try out stuff to see if you like it or not.
    MOST are not that expensive....

You could open up your horizons and try a soap or 12...Stirling alone has more flavors than that!

Really if your happy with what your using then your good to go. If you want to step out there's plenty of options. Look for top 5 soap or cream threads and go through them. You will see certain ones repeated over and over

I haven't tried any Art of Shaving. I have heard it's decent, but overpriced. C.O. Bigelow is, if I'm not mistaken, re-branded Proraso. And personally, I am hard pressed to find anything worse than Proraso. It's performance is, in my experience, sub-par and price/performance/efficiency ratio vastly unbalanced.

AoS is overpriced for its performance imho. Check out maggards he has a pretty wide selection of samples. My personal favorite at the moment is Le Pere Lucien, it's a soft soap.

A pearl of wisdom the better you become at straight razor shaving the less offended you will be of the performance of any given soap or cream. Of course you can still have preferences and dislikes.

    Yep... its all subjective.

I started out with AoS, and really liked Ocean Kelp. I havnt used it in at least a year now, though, as I have found better creams and soaps.

La Toja, being a favourite, and at 12 bucks a tube, with great smell and performance... what is not to like?

Love Maggards! Great customer service and super fast shipping. The wife and I both like their Lilac soap. I have also heard the Bigglow is Poraso, and I really like it. I am almost out of, come to think of it.
