I love AOS unscented cream and soap. I also love bigalow. Having said that maybe you should try Mike's natural soaps. Good stuff uses tallow.

Thanked: 33Everything about wet shaving, is subjective -soaps, creams, types of razor, razor brands, razor sizes, honing, hones. I've given up giving specific advice. The BEST advice is to sample as much as you can to see what works best for you.
As you gain experience in the process as a whole, your opinions may change. I love AoS. Is it the best? Not to me. Maybe to others. I think it's great, others hate it.
Maggard is a great place to get samples.
Good luck!

Thanked: 1I have bought some captains choice samples and love all of them. I definitely like them better then an aos creams. I am excited to rey the balms from captains. I found the soaps were better with my new straight and provide a slicker cushion for the straight razor to glide on.

Thanked: 55Tallow soaps seem to be the slickest. If you're like me and can't use tallow, then proraso is good stuff, not tried the creams. The white tub is little lacking in slickness but the red is great. Figaro is also great for marzipan soap, again if you can lift use tallow cella or valobra is probably better.

Thanked: 3225If you have a The Body Shop store near you could get a sample of their Maca Root shave cream to try. They are pretty good about giving free samples to try.
