This and that . . .
Gentlemen,
I have created a special category to highlight some legends without which no shave den is complete. Obviously, they are quality soaps or creams that deserve their own category. For me, Mitchell's Wool Fat and Tabac are a perfect fit here, as I think every shave den should have them. I've had these soaps for years and will continue to do so into the next century.
Also, I have placed the artisan soap Wholly Kaw in the First Tier. By Jove, this is a superb soap, in every way, and deserve to sit among the great ones.

I just recently acquired a tub of the Fern Concerto tallow and after two uses, I may have to state that is produces the best lather I have ever seen from any soap, in the seven years of wet shaving; extremely dense, thick, creamy, and slick with 15-20 seconds of loading creating lather for 4-5 passes. The only drawback is that the scent isn't something I am drawn to.
I guess I need to get a few more tubs.Laughter, Love, & Shaving

The Wholly Kaw, "Merchant of Tobacco" and the "Oud" are both stellar soaps, the Donkey Milk just takes these soaps to a whole new level.
Had a shave tonight with MdC Fougere, and was reminded, as I am every single time I use a soap by MdC, why for me, MdC is the undisputed King of the Shaving Soaps/Creams, whatever category there is, it's simply the best.
Quick swirl of the brush on the soap, no thought to loading too much or too little, into the scuttle, no tinkering with how much or how little water, just "bang" and bowl full of warm, perfect, beautifully scented lather every time. Scent full, rich and deep, and leaves the skin perfect.
I can see where Tc is coming from just sticking with MdC, getting more and more tempted to just put all soaps aside, take one flavour of MdC, one of PannaCrema, and simply swap out the different flavours of each for awhile, if I feel an overwhelming urge for something else, hit the box for something different, like the superb Olea, WK, or many of the other wonderful choices....
