Jerry,
I make the updates to the original post, Post No. 1, and note them in my newest post. That should be easy to follow.

Ok. So the first post IS the update list. I didnt know you could do that. Thanks for explaining. And thanks for your time and eforts in this search for the ultimate sha e cream and soap!
Yes, Obie I really appreciate my preference is to stay in Tier 1 and some Tier 2, with that said I noticed you put Aqua Di Parma is second tier, it was first tier, is that because of the newer formulation is not like the original

The Gentleman Floris - No. 89 Shaving Soap.
Lord. Thunderin'. Gawd in the Great Skies Above.:dropjaw:
One of the nicest soaps I've tried, easily Tier 1 in performance and the scent is both complex and wide ranging. Was a wonderful shave and lovely to spend time lathering.
Here is the description, of this triple milled luxurious experience:
The mellow woody notes are enlivened with a cool citrus twist of bergamot, lemon and orange punctuated with the green resinous notes of cedar leaf and spicy juniper berry.
Lavender and fir balsam with a touch of bay are key to the character of the heart and are reinforced by the woody notes of patchouli and vetiver.
Mossy notes then play a leading role as the fragrance evolves with amber, musks and a hint of leather in the base.
I purchased the refill, which was more reasonably priced, but as I'm out of spare bowls now, I'll have to bite the bullet and order the Floris Elite next time, another of Floris soaps that sounds equally amazing.
I think the No. 89 scent was a favorite of Ian Fleming's.
