    Phrank,
I remember that thread complaining about Le Pere Lucien. Looking back, I think I was not loading the brush enough. I load my brush heavily with any soap or cream I use, and often by the shave's end I have still plenty of leather left. I prefer that than having to eek out lather out of the poor brush by the third pass.

    .

Be interesting to compare a new tin of LPL with one that's been opened and used for a few weeks....

As always Obie, I love soaps and creams and discussions around them, and this thread is a "gift" for us soap addicts, thanks![/QUOTE]

You send me your LPL and I will send you some of my 50th birthday present, because I think I bought a whole lotta MdC.
Your only as good as your last hone job.

Wow! I thought I have a lot of soaps and creams. I liked your lists. Some I could move from tier to tier, but it would be my opinion only.

mainaman and I seem to be sharing the same problem - I went at this LPL with a Semogue Boar brush and hardcore loaded the brush, went to the scuttle and got it going, loaded again, and it ended up failing middle of the shave - this is a consistent experience with this soap; hence, it got boxed, just too much drama for me to get a fine lather....LOL.

And I'm a "No Drama" type for my shaving soaps.....

    Phrank,

Try going easy on the water and see what happens. I keep my water on the shy side with Le Pere Lucien, whereas with Mitchell's Wool Fat, I use plenty of water.

I wash my hands of this soap...

ultrasoundguy2003 can carry the burden of the LPL....and I wish him success in his lather building.

That is sound judgement. If you don't enjoy a product, or even a razor, you might as well pass it on.

If a synthetic could not manage usable lather then nothing would.

You and me both! And because I buy soap like it's going out of style, I justifiably turn every shave into a rampage of soap. I enjoy it.
