Got it - that would be the Abbate Y La Mantia Shaving Soap - KROKOS:

This is our masterpiece shaving soap. Pure SAFFRON pistils is saponified in the base that in its fragrance. It was created to bring the highest level our project of saffron use in shaving products. This spice, as well as giving the soap its fundamental properties eudermic and mechanical, also has an ancient and elegant fragrance. The intense yellow color of this soap is naturally given by saffron and not from chemical dyes.

Looks very interesting...has the price tag to go with it....looking forward to your review and thanks for the suggestion...was just thinking that the soap AD was kicking in again, and hadn't seen anything in awhile that peaked my interest.

Decided based on all the comments to order some Windsor. Will hopefully fit in my old Yardley bowl and be tested before the weekend.
Ordered some of their head to toe accompanying body wash as well so I can swim in the scent. The described notes are all the ones I like so I expect to be pleased.

The material I got with it said the current price is introductory and around Xmas he will raise it to the actual price. If it has true Saffron in it that is very expensive stuff sold by the gram.

Got it from Italian Barber, was about $20 shy of MdC, but looks spectacular, and yes, another soap to try thank the soap gawds....give this one a try with my new M&F when it arrives...

The Laureal supposedly smells exactly like Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel...so will pass on that for now, as a face splash it's awesome, as a soap....meh?

I bought some of the most expensive spice in the world for one of the wife's experiments in the kitchen....

"Saffron is the dried yellow stigmas from a small purple crocus. Each flower provides only three stigmas, which must be carefully hand-picked and then dried, an extremely labor-intensive process. It takes 225,000 stigmas to make one pound of saffron, making saffron the most expensive spice in the world. Fortunately, a little saffron goes a long way as a colorant and flavoring for cheeses, pastry, rice and seafood. Saffron is used in spice blends for paella, curry, kheer and bouillabaisse. Powdered saffron loses its flavor more readily and can be easily adulterated with imitations. Saffron is native to the Mediterranean, and most imported saffron comes from Spain."

I believe my wife used it in a recipe from a medieval cookbook, it has an interesting scent.
