Thanked: 5Tabac worth it?
Not an easy task buying something you've never seen or smelled online so here I am asking you if Tabac is worth it? does it smell good? Also, would the Tabac bowl fit the MWF puck? many thanks.

Thanked: 44I like everything about Tabac. The shave stick and aftershave are the products I use most regularly. The smell? I love it, but there's only one way to find out if you do.

I enjoy Tabac and that includes the aftershave and balm.
The scent of the soap is not that strong (imo) but it does give good glide and great post shave feel.
I have the loose puck in a plastic bowl so can't help you with the Tabac bowl.Tony

Worth it, I would say yes.
I have only used the stick, the performance is first class.
Fragrance? Not my favourite, but it doesn't last beyond the shave.
Any soap will fit any bowl, if you grate it and press it into the bowl.

Thanked: 3225If you type Tabac in the search box there are likely numerous posts about Tabac. From what I have read on here not too many people knock Tabac's performance as a shave soap. Where you will find dissent is on the scent of Tabac.
Personally I love the scent and performance of Tabac. I use the puck, shave stick, AS and Edt. I refuse to pay the surcharge for a soap puck supplied with a makers bowl. I just buy the refill puck and put it in my own container, usually a 1 cup Pyrex or Anchor Hocking container with lid. Done that way I'd say Tabac is worth the price.

Thanked: 0I agree with all the above. I personally love the scent as foes my SWMBO.
To give you an idea of how long the scent lasts.... she DE shaves her legs, arms, and uh ohs with it. By the time she applies moisturizer, no scent (or at least it gets covered and can't tell).
Granted we both enjoy the scent. I had the soap before the AS as a soap is to shave, scent comes second.

Rachmaninov,
Tabac is a good soap. It lathers well. Cushion and glide are good. Aftershave qualities are good. Some gentlemen like the fragrance and some don't. I love the fragrance. Is Tabac worth it? To me it is. Is it worth it to you? Well, I can't answer that. I think it's good stuff and worth the try. And yes, it should fit the Mitchell's Wool Fat ceramic dish.

Tabac is a decent product. Their stick is surely one of the better ones available

Thanked: 3795Chrisl wanted to try Tabac so I bought my puck with me to the first Frozen Toe Meet-Up at Mike Blue's place I think in 2009. I cut out a slice for him and he brought it home. He let his wife smell it and she declared it to smell like a combination of Aqua Net and Lysol. Now I don't at all concur with her assessment, but I don't live with her, so Chris had to toss it in the trash outside, unused.
My point is that some people really dislike the smell. Try not to marry those people. I think Tabac has a great smell and lather.
