    Default Soap breakthrough

I have never been able to really get the kind of lather from a soap that I could from a cream, well until today. I watched some videos and got frustrated and experimented this evening and figured it out. Man I was happy! The shave was awesome.

    Do you think soaps are
    Much more economical?

Yes, you just need to get used to them. Aid just your water amount and the time you spend loading your brush. Each soap is different.

It's called balance! The right balance of water to soap ratio. Every soap has it's own balance. It's our job to find it, then recreate it, then learn it with all the other soaps we buy.

    Good job!

So can you elaborate on what you figured out?

    Soap can be very economical.

I was not loading the brush, and I had way too wet of a brush.

For the soaps and creams I have used the soaps last much longer and for my skin the soaps have generally worked better for shaving giving me more slickness and better feeling skin.

How economical a soap is will depend on how soft it is, how much needs loaded to produce enough lather for 3 pass shave, and what brush is used to lather it.
That is my experience so far.

I think I would summarize the issue this way:
1)Shaving soap is more economical than shaving cream.
    2) The ratio of H2O to soap is critical
    3) The hardness of the water may impact the soaps ability to make lather. (not mentioned in this thread but is else where)
    4) Practice makes perfect

It took me a while to capture the trick of developing a good lather from a shave soap, but once done its as easy as falling out of a chair.

    Good luck

I quickly have come to enjoy shaving with soaps more than creams. I've purchased two organic soaps and they are just awesome.
