Thanked: 8Razorock xxx... surprisingly good!
So I've avoided trying razorock brand products for shave soap until today. No real good reason, other than that I've always heard, and seen on videos that they lather and perform well, almost without any real effort or talent. Some people would say "that doesn't make sense", or "what's the difference", but I've been of the opinion that I should become proficient with lathering anything and everything. So I usually try soaps that aren't super trendy, or everyone's favorite.
With the exception of one brand of shave soap from a vendor that will remain unnamed, I've been pretty good and always improving. I have to admit tho that the different types of razorock have always caught my eye when shopping...sooooo, I went ahead and got some xxx
This shave soap is (imo) exceptional. Especially for the cost! I mean the scent is fresh and lasting, but not obnoxious, and the lather is most likely as good as any I've tried, or better! So I decided to lift the ban on trendy soaps and see where it takes me.
One more thing.
If anyone hasn't tried "smolder" from blades grim. I highly recommend it. It's not super expensive, but it has a phenomenal scent, and it performs with the best!Last edited by Dramadon3151; 02-01-2016 at 10:57 PM.

Razorock has a strong following here.
Ease of lathering has nothing to do with price or ultimate quality. Glycerine type products will usually lather very easily while tallow based products are not so easy to lather. Also some soaps are full of chemicals in make them lather fast and luxuriously. I'm not familiar with the ingredients in Razorock but I'm sure it's formulated with easy lathering in mind.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 2591I tried the soap and it makes very thick lather, not sure it is slick enough for me though. I'll give it a few more goes.

+1 for smolder as well. Combining the soap with the aftershave is one of the top two according to my wife. She says it smells like carmel heaven.
Go find an adventure.....

I have some of the old ones, the XXX, Fresco, and Classic. As they have dried out some, I do add a few drops glycerin to the top every other use. They last a good long time! Work great! I did get a new one, the Essential Lime. Really like it!
I have seen many like the Mudder Fokker and several others of late.
Only a dozen and too many soaps...."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
