Thanked: 26Cheap bowls for soap
Hi all,
Forgive me if this topic has already been done before, but i recently wanted to try some new soaps (DR Harris and TOBS) and wrestled with the decision about buying the "official" wood bowls from the soap companies. I ended up not doing so as I figured I'd rather get more soap and spend less on a bowl that I may or may not like, so got soap refills instead.
I went to Walmart today and found a nice-looking ceramic ramekin for about $1.60 that fits a refill puck very nicely and is deep enough that I can load the brush without overflowing the sides:
The Pioneer Woman Flea Market Solid 9 oz Ramekins, Solid Colors, Set of 8 - Walmart.com
Only down side is no lid, but for now I am OK with this. (The store sells these individually and in a variety of colors -- don't need to buy a set of 8).Steve

gssixgun showed off his soap bowls here. 2 bucks with a lid. Although the container store may have something suitable to cover what you have already purchased...

Thanked: 26Both of the above posts are really helpful.
The IKEA ones have a magnet on the back and can be put on a metal surface -- I think those were originally intended for spices? I could imagine having a metal plate somewhere in the bathroom, like inside a cabinet door, and using that to store those containers that way.
I did see the clear glass bowl with lid at Walmart as gssixgun pictures -- perfect size. I was just a little afraid I'd drop it in the bathroom and have shards of glass all over. For some reason, not necessarily logical, the ramekins seemed a little sturdier/less likely to break/less likely to slip out of my hand.Steve
