Rinse between passes?
I've found between passes it helps my cream to do a light splash of water on my face. The cream seems to thicken up if I don't. Is that normal or correct? Not sure if that means I'm doing anything wrong.

Thanked: 3215Your cream is just drying out.
By the second pass the brush and lather can dry out. You can do much the same by just flicking the brush through running water from the hot faucet and pick up enough water to revive the lather in the brush.
You just have to find a system that works for you and stick with it.

I rinse my face between passes as well. Keeps my face warm, helps with the lather, and lets me know the areas I missed.
It does sound like your cream is a drop or two of water on the dry side though. Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead - Charles Bukowski

Yup, just recently found a nice rinse after my second pass seems to refresh the face and makes the final lathering very nice....warm water for the rinse, then cold water splash when done.

Thanked: 3795By rinsing your face and then re-lathering, you are effectively adding water to the drying lather via the residual water on your face.

LOL - yup, that would be a pretty accurate description of the effect...personally, I find after two passes and two rounds of lathering, a nice rinse cleans things up nicely for the final round, and get's rid of two passes of residue built up on the face. Recent practice for me, but seems to be refreshing and gives a good clean final pass, at least that's what I think today...now tomorrow or the next day?

Thanked: 10I give my face a light rinse between passes. Just enough to wet my face while leaving plenty of residual slickness. Its worked out very well for me so far.

Since my Mo will contain almost as much lather as the brush (ok, not that much...but a lot) I just dip my free hand in the water and smear the lather stored in my Mo over my face. This acts as a base coat for a new layer of lather and keeps the moisture content up.
(I would be the ugly one in the middle..)

I do a light warm water rinse between passes. Check for areas I may have missed or aren't as smooth as I'd like it to be. 3 passes.
Cold water at the end to rinse everything off..... Alum block used after too.Is it over there or over yonder?

Thanked: 171I do admit that at first I thought this thread odd, as it had never occurred to me that a shaver might not rinse his face before the next pass.
I've been doing this for longer than I care to remember.
