I started using a tub of Cella, that was opened maybe 5-6 years ago, found it in the back of my soap cabinet, and thought it was a new tub.

I flooded with water and let it set over night, poured the water off in the morning and been using it for a couple weeks now, just fine. I do the same with MWF.

The color of the soap, is a little more yellow than I remember, but it smells and lathers just fine. I had forgotten what a good soap it is.

Same here; started using a tub of Cella again that was occasionally used at first and then left untouched for a more than 6 years.
The almond scent had faded somewhat, the original pearly white colour had turned into a buttery yellow, but the soap still performed well.

There are some isolated reports of Cella turning rancid on the Internet, but in the last ten years neither my Cella bricks nor my Cella tubs have so far shown any such tendency.

I have a couple of soap cakes that belonged to my grandad and date back to the 40s, and they are still good to go!

I agree with all the gents above: soaps do keep very well. One point though: the scent, that seems to change or go away after a number of years.
