Wow thanks for posting this OP. Just when I was deciding to go for a simpler wardrobe, having used Palmolive sticks, Tabac and (European) Nivea Shaving Cream since the summer... Why do I just know I'm going to cave in at some point?
Anyway, here are the direct links:

The Rose and Vetyver landed in Brussels. Summary first impressions after one shave with each:
- I hesitated about the Rose but it has quite a subtle scent with possibly other floral/citrus notes in there as well. Far less 'in your face' than DR Harris Rose, for example (which I sold after a week even though it lathered beautifully). Like it a lot and plan to use it regularly.
- The Vetyver is very dry and woody, the blurb even says smoky. If you're used to Guerlain or Carven vetiver colognes, you won't recognise this easily. For me this dry scent is nothing to write home about but again it's non-intrusive which is a feature I like, so I'll give it a chance.
- Bottom line, great soaps but I still prefer the lavender-based Original

Couldn't agree more.
After two shaves with the Vetyver..."dirt" was a word that came to mind...very, very earthy. It's MdC, so perfect in all the ways it should be, but didn't hit it out of the ballpark for me.
Rose, after one shave, still is what I'd consider one of the nicest I've tried, really deep, wide ranging scent and I think it's the better of the two.
But agreed - the Original is still legions above them all.
I'd say, Original, Rose or Fougere next (although that could change on the mood), then the Vetyver...dry, that's a great word, yes...stale smoke after a campfire also came to mind. Night after hanging around a campfire, that smell, that's what it reminded me off, but not in necessarily a good way.
Also, I think these soaps need to "mature" a bit...who knows, either way, they're a great addition, afterall, they're MdC.....

Just took a look at ordering three on their site, Vetyver, Fougere, and Rose. Shipping to me is 32.00 euro ! Total for the three would be 153.00 euro, and change.
They are proud of their soap. I didn't pull the trigger. I have a lot of Williams that I haven't used yet ...........Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Yeah, Jimmy~!!
You (being a bad influence and all) seem to posses the big ice cream bowl of original anyway!
I ALMOST pulled the trigger on the Vetyver yesterday and thought better wait to see.
Sounds as if it would not be for me.
Thanks for the reviews, Gents!
(Max has a smoking deal on some original down in the BST forum!)

Thanked: 4206Just tried the Vetyver myself for the first time tonight.
Tom, I will send you a nice sample with your package in Jan. let you decide for yourself.
I like the scent. It has a subtle, as yet unplacable scent. The one phrank described as a stale smoke. I'm not sure ,to me it's stale smoke, but that's the lead scent in it..will have to try a few more goes and see if I can describe it better.
Certainly a great lather for three passes tonight, and I'm going to keep sniffing the bowl till I can describe what it reminds me of.
Nice glass bowl as well. I heard they had switched to plastic, but not on this one.
Ordered the misses a basket of soaps and sponges to ease my guilt this close to Christmas as well ,lol. It smells amazing! And They threw in a fougere soap sample.
