    Default Activated Charcoal Shave Soap?

I know, I know... This going to ruffle some feathers and isn't a traditional shave soap but I'm going to bring it up anyways. I use Prince by Lush for my daily shaving and am content with it. Today I was perusing through etsy and found an activated charcoal shave soap. I have heard of some benefits to using activated charcoal/carbon but this is a new one for me. Has anyone used this before? I think I'm going to take one for the team and test it out.

    Thoughts?

A link to the item would be helpful.
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

    JBHoren,
There are tons of these soaps. Just a quick search on etsy produces a couple dozen.

Interesting soap. The only thing I have ever had with activated charcoal were some filtered cigarettes.

The water filter I use for camping contains activated charcoal. I am not sure I see the need for charcoal in a shaving soap.

I was issued with a NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) suit back in my British Army days, it too was impregnated with charcoal...

I have used a face wash by L'Oréal with charcoal in it, a few of the big name skincare brands have used it too.
The blurb says it purifies and draws out toxins...

Some of the soaps by The Los Angeles Shaving Soap Company include charcoal, like Black Rose and Blackfern. They are great soaps, but other than being gunmetal grey in the tub, once you lather up with one, they are business as usual. I love them, but can't tell a big difference from conventional soaps.

I was wondering if the charcoal was just in there to make the colour black. Would seem like it is.

I've a suspicion the activated charcoal being used in a shaving soap has more to do with it being an exotic ingredient than it does being beneficial.

By the way, I wonder what happened to the OP. Their first post on this forum was a question about soaps on Etsy and their second was a link to soaps on Etsy. Nothing else. It looks a little fishy to me.
