    Default Aubrey Organics shaving cream

So lately I've been getting into more natural products. The chemical fragrances really bother my wife.

Now I picked up a tube of the Aubrey Organics shaving cream the other day. I forgot that it does not lather (which is why I hadn't picked up any before). I tried it the first day with my brush like I would any regular cream -- nothing!? What?? I read the package. Oh, yeah! It's not meant to lather, you just apply it to your face and shave. I guess it's more like a gel. To me, calling it a shaving cream is a little confusing. I like the smell, but the stuff is transparent. It is really strange to be shaving and not see where I've shaved. That part of it really bugs me. Also, it doesn't lubricate as much as my soaps for a second or third pass. After 5 shaves with it now, I'll probably keep the stuff, but I feel like I'm shaving blind. I don't know if I'll ever get used to that part of it. Just thought I'd share my experience.

I've also picked up a tube of Tom's that I'll probably try tomorrow. Looking forward to that after reading good reviews.

    My .02,

I love the way this stuff smells and feels on the skin, but I'm in the same boat - I tried several times to lather it up. Whoops. The lack of chemicals in it makes me want to stick it out though. Really leaves my skin feeling nice with no irritation. My favorite "flavor" is the "City Rhythms." Happy shaving!

Check out al's shaving. He makes his own creams that are natural (can also talk to him and get custom scents). They also produce a superb lather.
