People deny that they get a kick out of spending some top dollars on items but I get it. It is somewhat of a "bragging rights" thing. Maybe even subconsciously it tends to "color" people's perception of how good something is. So I think the cost of something definitely plays into the "top tier" category for some. Who can blame someone for wanting to showcase their puck if soap that cost them near $100 for Pete sake or $300 for a "top tier" badger brush or a $700 hone? I get it.

What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

I tier mine by performance and scent. Some of my bottom tier soaps have been pricey.

Thanked: 38To get back to the original subject of this thread: I broke out my Simpson's Classic brush for my February brush and gave Mitchell's another try. Success. I now appreciate what you all have been saying about this soap. I'm pleased now. Still very early into this puck. Still think I'll grate the next one, but I'll enjoy this one for a couple of years in it's jar. Glad I didn't give up on it.
