Thanked: 3225Pecksniffs shave cream a warning
I found this at a discount store so why not try it out. I have had good luck with other Pecksniffs products. Sadly this shave cream does not work well with a brush to produce a rich thick and slick lather, at least for me. A pity since the scent is excellent. My advice would be to leave it on the shelf if you see it.

I think what you have there is a fake product.
Pecksniffs are a boutique in Brighton, They have a web presence but don't produce for anyone other than themselves as far as I know. It's not a cheap company to buy from either. Creams in a jar are £20. Not quite Penhalligon prices but certainly not highstreet prices. Generally you are looking at £8-10 for a decent cream on the UK highstreet like TOBS, Maccaroot, Truefitt, ect.
Penhalligons is actually far easier to find. Almost 30 places in the UK sell it. Pecksniff's never seen it for sale anywhere, You'd have to search to know it existed.
There also not selling bottle cream anymore, they did but the packaging was different. And not that low quality screen print style of graphic.

Send them a message and tell them where you got it... You might get some free stuff out of them if you make it sound like a complaint!! And it would certainly clear up any argument to it been real or not.Last edited by Iceni; 06-05-2017 at 01:13 AM.

Thanked: 3225The discount store where I bought it is Winners.

While it certainly could be a fake/counterfeit product I have my doubts. It could easily be products sold in one market are packaged differently for sale in other markets. I have also bought Scottish Fine Soaps and Floris products there. They have no regular stock items, just whatever happens to come in.
The only complaint I have is that it does not work well with a shave brush to produce lather. I have binned the stuff so can't say for certain what the instructions said. IIRC was that you could apply it to your face with your hand or with a shave brush. I was hoping it was not just another brushless shave cream with the mention of a shave brush to apply it. Seems I was being a little too hopeful in that regard and it really is a brushless shave cream in the end.
The 2 Pecksniffs EDT I have are very nice and user instructions are in 3 languages, English, German and a third I am not familiar with.
