    Default C&E shave cream

After being bitterly disappointed with the C&E Moroccan Myrrh hard soap puck's performance, I took a chance on their shave cream in the same scent. Happy to say that it appears that the shave cream performs as it should. It lathers up easily to make a nice slick lather that does not dissipate quickly. So now I can at least enjoy the wonderful scent of Moroccan Myrrh in the mornings.

    Bob,
Did you like the original Nomad soap puck? Did it perform better than this Moroccan Myrrh puck?

Yes, the original Nomad puck was much better. I understand that the Mororccan Myrrh soap puck I had was the bad formula one and that they have changed the ingredients since then. The new formula is supposed to work as well as the original Nomad. At least with the cream I can enjoy the wonderful Nomad/Moroccan Myrrh scent in a good lather.

I picked up a couple of tubes of this cream a few months ago. Found it to be very nice...especially at only $10 a tube

I bought a puck of Moroccan Myrrh soap middle of 2016 that was an unlatherable soap. Turned out that when they changed the name from Nomad Soap to Moroccan Myrrh they changed the formula on the hard soap and stuffed it up.

In March of 2016 or thereabouts C&E fixed the soap formula.

When I explained my dissapointment to C&E South Africa they were very apologetic and replaced the soap with a puck of the newer formulation.

    Now for the record:

Formulation with Sodium Palmate listed at the top of the list = BAD
Formulation with Potassium Palmate at the top of the list = GOOD.

    I have all three flavours;
Lime, Moroccan Myrrh and Sandalwood in the new GOOD formula and they are all good.

And beware some our shops here, are still selling the BAD and the GOOD soap puck formulae side by side.

Creams don't ever seem to have had a problem.

    Default C&E shave cream

I didn't particularly like it. I got it when I was first starting out with lathering. It was dry to the face. But now that I am a little more knowledgeable, it was probably more due to my hard water and poor lathering skills at the time than it being a poor cream.

But I still didn't like that it smell of fresh hot chili peppers.

Interesting, when I bitched about the crappy lather to C&E in Canada they were surprised, apologetic and sent me a replacement puck. The silly buggers sent me a replacement puck with the same old bad formula as the first one. I guess they have not heard of the problem or the change in formula to correct it. A valiant effort on their part but an epic fail from my pov.

The local shop where I bought mine must have a stock of the older bad formula. They did, however, have a puck of Nomad which I also bought and it was just fine. If I did not have bad luck I's have no luck at all.

That is the thing with shaving soaps/creams when it comes to the scent. Everyone's likes and dislikes are different when it comes to scents but the lathering performance is not as debatable. It either lathers well or does not.
