    Default L'Occitane Cade

Well, im not to crazy about the cream, but i LOVE the smell of L'Occitane Cade. Has anyone else ever smelled it? Is there anything else out there that has that same smell?

There's the shaving soap, and also ASB? (and yes, some of the cream would not lather to save its life)

The scent is juniper, iirc. There is a little variation in the scent between cream, soap, and ASB - good to sample them if you can. If you can't - you have to trust me that they seem to work well for me, unless other people chime in with opposing opinions

I used the soap, followed by the ASB for a while. Got a bit bored, and let them rest. May try again - it's been some time since I last used them

    Cheers

It's Juniper and I haven't run into anything quite like it (in my experience anyway). I'm a huge CADE fan. I haven't tried the cream yet, but I do use regularly the soap and the aftershave balm. Give the soap a try, don't let the cream experience hold you back from trying it.

    You beat me to it.

As for the CADE ASB, I think it works best following a witch hazel splash. It's very moisturizing, but not very cooling.

I bought a tube of Occitane Cade cream from Iwan recently. The smell was pleasant but subtle. It seems to lather up OK too. I'm reserving it for travel as there are plenty of creams I prefer for home.

What's the soap like then? I've been meaning to ask about it for some time now...

    Default great

L'Occitane Cade shaving soap is top notch, both scent and performance are very good. I lucked out and found the soap and bowl set on sale for $20 at the L'Occitane store when I was vacationing in Miami, then purchased two refills for future use after I tried it a few times.

    +1

Of the hardmilled soaps in my rotation (CADE, Taylor's Lavender and Mitchell's Woolfat), I reach for the CADE first. The Mitchell's is a close second.

By the way - there is also a "youth concentrate" CADE product. The salesperson gave me a sample and since I don't use this stuff I just threw it somewhere - but happened upon it yesterday and thought that someone might appreciate the heads up.

    Exclamation

I got the L'Occitane Cade Shave Cream after my gf recommended the brand. I didn't know anything about it's reputation. But after trying it, with little success, I headed on over to the SRP forums, and quickly realized I had wasted about 35$ (converted from the price in Norwegian Kroner). I tried all sorts of combinations, cream only (no water), added water, added shave oil, added soap etc.. No luck. I was able to work up a great looking - and great feeling - lather. The best mixture was starting with a XL portion of shave cream and almost no water at all on the brush, stirring for a while, and then adding a few drops of water. More stirring. Another few drops of water. More stirring. Great lather! But - after shaving about a third of my face, the lather had dried up, and lost all moisturizing effect.

I tried again today, just in case it was me having a bad day yesterday. But no more luck today.

So I went back to the shop, expecting nothing. The nice woman seemed really sad about the fact that the shave cream didn't work for me, and offered me to trade it for a L'Occitane Cade Shaving Sope and the fancy steel bowl (a set which retails for about 50$ here...). She also throwed in a bunch of samples of the other products they have (moisturizers, magic youth stuff etc).

I'll be trying the soap tomorrow, and come back to write a few words about it. My expectations are high, from reading about it here on the forums.

PS: I also got the Cade Pre Shave Oil and the Cade After Shave yesterday. I'll throw in a comment on those as well after tomorrow's shave
    They all smell GREAT!
