soap eulogy
wanted to take a moment to stop in and let you all know that it IS POSSIBLE. yes, you heard it correctly. YOU CAN FINISH OFF A SOAP!!!
i have 11 soaps (used to be 12 ) sitting in my bathroom cabinet. soap choice for the shave one of the best parts of my routine. to pick a scent to matches my mood, or better yet sometimes a scent that takes me to a mood i wish i was in. obviously some work a tad better then others and there are scents i like a smidgen more then the one next to it...however they all get used.
last night i had my final use of my QED - Grapefruit n Peppermint soap. it has served me superbly through the months and i will miss it dearly. its was a aromatic and gentle soul with lather so thick and creamly i had dreams about it.
chin up gents. surely he will return again someday!

Damm, the only soap I am close to finishing up is my Taylor of OBS sandalwood. It also has been a great soap to use.

How long did it take to finish one? The only pucks I've ever finished are how ever many Williams I went through in the 15 yrs prior to joining here and SRP.
Love the avatar. When I need a smile I can always go to www.ihasabucket.com
It never fails.

I just finished up My Tub of Taylor of OBS St James shaving cream. Damm I loved that stuff. I guess I will have to shell out some bucks for some more.

Thanked: 1I have two soaps I'm nearing the ends of.
1. Williams. First puck I ever bought. Still smells lemony. I lather that one in the cup, then rinse out the cup, much faster usage than other soaps where I just get a bit on the bristles and lather on my face.
2. Burt's Bees Bay Rum. Finished it quickly because I don't like it as a shave soap, it spent its short lifespan as a shower soap.
edit: speaking of sandalwood, it will be my next used up puck, damned I love that stuff (Art of Shaving).Last edited by Friggin Joe; 07-16-2007 at 04:13 PM.

Thanked: 9WTG!
I have never finished a soap shaving. Giving away, using as a bath soap, and yes - throwing away, but not by actual shaving use
Cheers

I'm waiting for my bayrum soap from KKcogle to run out so I can try another soap from my small soap mountain. I already have 3 mugs of soap in rotation and refuse to start another until one of my soaps runs out. I've been waiting for a week now. 3 lavish applications of lather every morning and bayrum is still holding up strong...DAMN YOU BAYRUM, WHY WON'T YOU DIE!!
Ernest
PS: There's nothing wrong at all with my bayrum soap, it's great smelling but I really just wanna have 2 mugs and my scuttle in rotation. But my bayrum just sits there smugly in it's mug...grinning at me asking, "Soo, when is the next shave gonna be?".Last edited by Big_E; 07-17-2007 at 12:06 AM.

Thanked: 1I love Bay Rum, it's just the Burt's Bees in particular I don't care for.
I don't feel it makes a very good lather. Also feels like it has some exfoliating grit in it which I see no use for.
