I enjoy trying far too many new shave soaps, and the ones that don't perform well when using a straight, perform just fine in the shower.

I've found many shave soaps that are duds aren't even good for bath soap.

Oh yeah....if it fails in the scuttle, it lands in the shower...nothing says treating yourself like Royalty than soaping up in the shower with a bar of soap that costs anywhere between $15 to $40 dollars.....Irish Spring you say, not for this Silverback....

Wise old saying: never buy shaving soap from a lady at the flea market whose husband has a full beard.
Soap making is a popular craft, but apparently not everyone understands the specifics of shaving soap.
Have had some soaps that were not shave-worthy, but were ok for the shower. My father was an engineer. He used to tell me that sharpening a straight razor is like trying to build a ladder to the moon out of a roll of aluminum foil.

Gentlemen,
Yes indeed, many shaving soap duds end up in the shower at Schloss Obie. I bought my schloss with the money saved.
