I was able to use the Fougère this morning. I get it now. Literally 4 swirls of the brush on the soap, face lather and BOOM, here comes the lather! I was truly amazed how much beautiful fluffy white lather it created. The more I worked the brush on my face, the more lather was created! Slick, soft and fluffy. Wonderful stuff!! Can't wait to try the Vetyver! Very happy with my decision to spend the $$.

On another note, the soap comes in a 200g tub (7 oz). Considering many soaps/creams are $20-$30/4 oz, the cost of MDC is pretty much in line with it's competition cost wise.

Ugh, I'm going to have to get some now.. looks like they have some very cool packaging options for their traditional soaps. anyone had experience with those glass/crystal container offerings?

You won't regret the purchase. I do not know what the glass/crystal container is...

Welcome to the Thunderdome - the soap to compare all others too.

I have only found 3 or 4 soaps tops that I would put in the same league as MdC...the Fougere is sublime, the Vetyver incredible, but I hate to do this to you...the MdC Original, which is essentially Lavender, is the No #1 soap I've ever tried...it's the first.

But, give it a couple of months, and you'll have the other two ordered, the Rose is the nicest I've tried, and that will give you an excuse to also order the Original....

edited to add - just read Tom's post, I agree entirely that the Original is the best...or as we put it in Canada.....ferkin' awesome eh!

Yes, I know that I will place an order for others to try, however, I must allow a bit of time to pass to try to conquer the OCD!

It doesn't cost that much,, I've done the math. The only soap that is cheaper us Arko, the 20$ soaps actually cost more, they use more product to achieve the same suds, plus their substandard suds. So don't let cost fool you. Shave by shave the cost of MDC is very low, Tc

MCD is a bargain even in spite of shipping. So little is necessary on the brush. It amazes me each time I lather up. I was hesitant at first, but so many were so complimentary that I thought I'd give MCD original a try. Oh my!!! So well worth the purchase.

I agree with you both on the cost. The cost/shave of MDC is not out of line. It is not so much the price, more of the need to get some use on all of the new lather products (soap/cream/croap) i have purchased recently!

It's a problem to be sure. Just hope I live long enough to use up what I've already purchased!
