Yeah, I think the hard soaps require more loading. I have noticed with the Harris soaps the soap stick, when applied to the face, is quicker to lather than the puck. Also, I sprinkle water on the puck and let it absorb while I shower. It seems to help with the hard soaps. Tallow soaps are my favorite so I don't mind the extra little effort.
