Default Is SAD (soap acquisition disorder) a thing.

I have a fleet of razors so RAD has been officially diagnosed. While Christmas shopping I "accidentally" ordered myself over a dozen soap samples from popular vendor. I think I'm hooked. Waking up in the morning and deciding which razor to use, and listening carefully to hone in on which soap scent is speaking to me, is a new level of luxury. I usually only have two or maybe three soaps on hand at any given time (something w/ menthol, a bay rum and one of whatever caught my eye while shopping), but I don't think I can go back to that now.

You better quite now while you still can. If you don't before you know it you'll be one of those guys with 30 or more soaps and every time someone says "this soap is great" just like a dope fiend you'll run to order it.

    Don't say I didn't warn you.

It’s all good. If you hang around enough you will find a group of soap addicted friends that you can share and swap with. When I get a new soap I put some in a glass bowl with a tight lid and save the original container and some of the soap for sharing. It’s fun to share and swap. No shortage of friends to swap with around here.

I have managed to avoid the disorder so far, but that is only because I don't shop much online and Chicago's Merz Apothecary is too far off my usual path. Otherwise I'd be doomed. Yes, it's a thing. I think you've caught it.

It exists, as do all other forums of ADs, in this hobby.

Im guilty of SAD. Ive got probably 30 soaps in my closet right now and I often find myself perusing Ebay, Amazon and Etsy looking for more.

    Gentlemen,

For years I have tried to trim myself to only Martin de Candre and Castle Forbes, but that's like sticking with my Lamborghini while my Toyota blows me kisses. OY! Putting the shave den on a diet is a lost cause.
