I purchased a puck on a whim. It guess it is OK for the price, especially if you prefer vegan soaps.

I have far better soaps so after a few trial shaves the puck was put away in the cabinet. I will probably use it up as a shower soap.

I used it today for the third time. I usually give three shaves before I really offer much of an opinion. I like this soap. It’s a very good value great if you have sensitive skin. Once you figure out how much water it makes a thick slick lather. My favorite right now is Tabac. Once I get the Martin De Candre I ordered Tabac May drop to second place.

once you get your MDC you will throw rocks at that stuff! just kidding LOL you know ole Bobh has a thought that just about any soap is good soap. some are better than others but it doesn't have to be a super duper expensive soap to get a good shave with. if you do your job making a proper lather, have a good well honed blade and know how to strop and shave alls good. where the preference in soap comes is each persons individual taste. ill give and example, MDC , Or Castle Forbes, as good as it gets, its luxurious. great scents face soothing, big pillowy lather. goes a long way. kinda expensive, but not if you count how many shaves from a jar. now Arko, 1.20 a stick makes a great lather, lasts forever, feels great on the face, but heres the personal side for me, it smells like a urinal cake!

every one is different, some just trash the expensive soaps because they are minamilists, which is ok. so you have spent the money enjoy it. I myself have pretty much given up on the soap hunt and use MDC 90% of the time now. I try samples from some of my friends and they have been great soaps too. so far nothing ive found(to Me) has been better than MDC or Castle Forbes, so I think I,m worth it and its my money. for the record Tabac is about as good as you can get also, I always have a puck of it around. LOL TC you have me pegged. I'd just say that most, not all, shave soaps, creams or croaps that I have tried do not stand in the way of me getting a good shave. That is, as you say, if all the other components of getting a good shave are there too. Yup, some are better than others for me but it is not necessarily directly related to the cost. OTH, there is no arguing that both MdC and CF are top performers to be enjoyed.

You are right too that you definitely are worth it.

I couldn’t agree more. I have about a dozen different soaps covering at least seven or eight different brands from $4.25 to $30.00 and the truth is I can get a great shave from any of the. Different soaps require different amounts of water and time to build a good lather but if you have a nice brush and MOST IMPORTANTLY if your razor is honed to perfection and you know how to properly strop it you will get a nice shave. Of the different soaps I have now the only one I really dislike is Shannon’s but there are plenty of people of love it. I probably won’t buy any Castle Forbes or Aqua Di Parma simply because I just prefer soap to cream. I have TOBS and GFT cream and they work great I’m just a soap guy. Before I began shaving with a straight razor in 83’ I shaved with a Double Edge Gillette and used Williams or Old Spice soap and a synthetic brush I bought at the drug store for about $3.00 bucks maybe less in 1972. Even if I used Foamy on a can I used a brush. My wife encouraged me to order the MDC for exactly the reason you said. If you enjoy it then it’s worth the money. She reminded me that the Cuban Cigars I smoke aren’t exactly cheap but I enjoy them. I bought three NOS Puma razors that I’m waiting to arrive and if they sharpen, shave and maintain an edge anywhere near as nice as the one I have they will be well worth the money. One last thing about soap or cream, I think it takes about three shaves to figure out the right amount of water and get the lather just right on most products so I usually reserve judgement until I shaved with it three times. Good luck and good shaving everybody

yep soap is cheap, my last box of cigars cost over 500$, and they wont last as long as a good soap. my way of testing a soap is different though,, I take it into the shave den, get a brush going and I do half a dozen or so lathers in my palm, I can find out it best water ratio and see what I think about the cushion and ability to maintain a good lather over time, when you have it in your hand you just know. plus I go ahead and see how much it makes from a certain number of swirls in the product. then a couple of weeks shaving with it to see what I think. I may have had over 120 soaps in my time, I just recently have it down to 4 in my den Tc
