I had a really nice shave today with a Castle Forbes Lavender. With less than a dime size amount you really get a lot of lather. I’ve always been and still am a soap guy.
And I still am. I have only tried Castle Forbes, GFT, And TOBS Creams. I purchased a Captains Choice Lather bowl that I use when shaving with cream. All three creams are very nice but Castle Forbes seems to me to be the slickest and produces the most lather. It only takes a little just like MDC soap only takes a little but hell im not trying to conserve product or stretch it I just load the heck out of my brush and enjoy it. I may order some Cedarwood Sandalwood Castle Forbes but I’m not interested in trying a new brand. Besides if I don’t stop buying shaving stuff and pocket knives on EBay my old lady is going to run my ASS off!
Until about 5 months ago I had not tried any other soaps or creams. I was using the same GFT almond soap I’d used since 1995 when I ran across it on a Men’s grooming web based store. For the last 4 months I’ve been on a damn soap and cream buying binge. Now I have Harris in two scents, TOBS, in two scents, Cade, Tabac, Men’s Soap Co., Fine in two scents, MDC, Castle Forbes Lavender, TOBS, Lavender Cream, GFT Coconut Cream, Klars, And few more I can’t think of. I retired my small silver tip 25 year old brush and bought tw Thaters a 4125/4 and a 4125/6. I’m still mostly a soap guy but I’m very impressed and am enjoying the creams I mentioned.
