Default Review: VHD -- deluxe Shave Soap

I was doing some shopping in downtown Toronto and came across this piece by Van Der Hagen Enterprises (Liberty Hill, TX)...

-It came in a green and white cardboard box on the outside and on the inside, it had a thin transparent plastic case that can be used as a travelling shaving bowl. A nice touch of convenience.
-The price was $3.50CDN, but since it's a low volume item, probably purchased while our dollar wasn't as strong, chances are it costs $2-3 south of the border.
-The scent is nothing special. Generic, soapy. Didn't expect anything spectacular for that price.
-It gave a thick lather fairly quickly and the lather remained moist throughout each pass, thus clearly outperforming C&E soaps
-The hair was properly hydrated and the Filly met no real resistance.
-I found the glide to be lacking and after a small nick, I paid extra attention to the blade angles, which I wouldn't have with TGQ or Tryphon soaps.
-Overall: Skip this one. In the low-end market, Williams performs at least as well (even though it may require more water to start with), smells better, is cheaper and is more readily available.

If you want to check out the manufacturer's website, it's www.vdhent.com.

P.S. The logo clearly has VHD and not VDH on the crest.
