    Default SaltSpring Soapworks?

    Hi All

Just wondering if anybody has tried their shaving products, they're practically next door and I like to support local business.

    ingredients for their shave bar

Contains: Saponified Oils of Sustainable Elaeis Guineensis (Palm), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut), Ricinus Communis (Castor), Persea Gratissima (Avocado); Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Tocopherol (Avocado Butter), Theobroma Cacao (Cocao Butter), White Clay, Glycerine, Essential Oils of Cedrus (Cedar Wood), Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus), Sodium Lactate.

almost looks more like a sandwich spread from the ingredients

I guess I'll be the first

I've been using williams with a cartridge for a couple years and I ordered some D. H, Harris (If SHMBO finds out I spent $23 on a small bar of soap I'll never hear the end of it ) that won't be here for about a month so I'll pick up a dirt cheap $10 bar from Saltspring Soapworks to use in the meantime, maybe if I really like it I'll pick up a few for the giveaways.

I live in Vancouver, so I should consider ordering some, but I don't hold much hope for it, for some reason.
Having tried almost all of the good soaps, available, and having found my preferred one/two/three, I don't have much desire to keep experimenting, especially, when it comes to scents.
Let me know how you find it when you do try it.

There are a lot of artisan soap makers on the coast. I have gotten some very nice bar soaps. I have not gotten any passable shave soaps. The good news is that if they don’t cut it as shave soaps the usually are pretty high end shower soaps. Give it a whirl, it might be good. There are a few small producers that kick out great product.

Although I do not live in BC, my experience with local artisan "shaving soaps" has been the same as RezDogs. I have often wondered if the makers actually shave with their products and never mine using a straight razor. That is not say there are not some very fine artisan shave soaps out there because there are.
