I thought it might be the soap but happens with 5 different brands, even Baume.

Never had anything like it when using a straight. I'll have to go back to a straight & see if it persists.
Itching? That really is odd. Like a rash?

T&H Trfalgar burns the flesh from my face. There’s just something in it that my skin does not appreciate. Anything with thyme extract doesn’t react with me very well either. It happens. When it does you just have to move on.

Yeah , weird right ? Slight redness but only if I scratch it.

I once handled scales made of exotic woods (one was sorta light olive green) dressing up a few razors a custom maker sent to me for review. Before long, skin touched by my fingers became red and itchy. Not sure if they had a final finish coat or not, but I admired them from afar before returning them to the maker.

So beyond hay fever and allergies to cats, I'm definitely an enemy of certain tree species.

    Update:

So PMing with Speedster, I told him I was going to wait until tomorrow to shave, so he recommended that I lather up a bowl and try it on my arm. I did. Five minutes later. No problem. So here’s hoping it was a one of, and tomorrow I can have a great shave with my new soap. Yay!

Because i want to love it. Oleo makes one of my absolutely favorite soaps - ROUGÉRE. If I was told I could only ever have one soap/aftershave combo for the rest of my life, the Rougere might be it!

This is the soap by the way:

Leaving the lid open overnight, walking to the den I could smell the chocolate in the hall. The scent is no where near complex as the Rougere, but it’ll be nice now and again. Of course, I only know Oleo to leave the face feeling pretty darn good after you are all said and done, and after the burn subsided, my face did feel pretty good.

If it burns my face off again tomorrow as OCD describes (it’s was very uncomfortable), I’ll mail it off to someone else to try.

    Here is hoping it doesn’t.

I actually did try the aftershave this morning by itself. It was pretty darn mentholated!! I got burn, but I expect that. I’m going to put on some balm now and see. Good thinking.

Just did the balm. It’s funny, I got a little tingle and I started to panic lol! Alas, it was fine.
