The retired math teacher in me kicked in when I decided to compare the prices.:

I was comparing the 200 g PannaCrema in a ceramic jar @ $75 CAD (37.5¢/g) to the 250 g Boellis Panama 1924 Coffret Shaving Bowl With Lid @ $120 CAD (48¢/g). That’s a big difference when you consider the ceramic containers look about the same quality, so the difference in price is based on the contents.

What’s going on here? Is it a big block that you grind into your bowl of choice?

The answer is yes and no. You can buy the stuff as a 250 g block of soap in a nice wrapper for $50 CAD or spend another $70 CAD to get the same amount in a ceramic jar they call a Coffret. Since the PannaCrema soaps only come in a ceramic jar, to the best of my knowledge, that’s how I chose to compare costs.

I find the Cella cream and the Cella hard soap to be a little different. I actually prefer the hard soap. I find it works better and smells a little less sweet. I have had the cream for a really long time so I guess I don’t like it that much, but it did not get used for shower soap so it’s is not a poor soap.

I used Cella a few years but developed an allergy to it ie skin burning.
If you want to persist with it add a snurdle of cream for an uber lather type mix.

That’s a good idea. At least it’ll have some function. Thanks.
