Hello fella's... Hope everyone had a good weekend.. So I decided a couple of months back that I have more than enough SR shaving razors and all else needed to last someone a lifetime so with that I stopped purchasing anything related.. In that time I especially started to use soaps that i havent used in a long time and come to find out that since ive become a veteran of shaving with straights and only think of it as shaving its just second nature now.. With that said I have really come to enjoy using heavy glycerine based Col Conk that was one of my 1st soaps i ever bought... So the long story to my question is.. I am going to break my self imposed no buying anything and purchase a couple pucks of MamaBear soaps...So does anyone have any recent purchases of MamaBear and can you give me a few recomendations on ones you have liked? Im not picky about my soaps as in scents as there are few i really dislike.. Only scent i would shy away from might be Bay Rum because i have a boatload of those already.. Let me know if anyone has any and i appreciate it.. Thanks! SMW

I bought a puck of their Rose, soap. I like it, probably the best of the Glycerin based soaps out there. IMO

Mama Bear's Rose scented is the best. I had her make me an aftershave balm with an extra dose of Rose scent (I have a deficient smeller and generally need a high dose of whatever to smell it properly.) Yes, she does custom. I started out with glycerin based soaps and was not impressed until I received a sample of hers and that's all she wrote.

Im in the same boat as Razorfield. I hated the glycerin soaps as i couldnt get good lather from them. Gave them up! Then someone sent me a couple samples of Mamabear soaps. My sniffer doesnt work well so i cant comment on scent, but the quality of the soap is a top tier IMO. I dont think you can go wrong with any of them. Maybe ask for some samples from her so you can find what you like. But what you get will be great lathering soaps so dont sweat it and buy. You made a good choice!

    Gentlemen,

Back from the hospital. It's good to chat with you.

Mama Bear soaps are quite good. I don't think you'll go wrong with their overall quality. Their scents are always understated, which I like quite a bit. Some years ago I interviewed owner Sue Clark, who is a dedicated artist.

    Maybe I know them.....

I was able to visit Sue several years ago. Her shop is not far from our hunting camp in the U.P.
