Given that was a poor choice of words for an analogy, it's obviously not meant as a religious statement.

I was making the point that I find it not as good as its reputation that seems widely spread on many wet shaving forums.
By many considered as THE benchmark cream, I made a subjective point by stating it's clearly not for me judged by its performance.

Facts often take a vacation in a hobby that for the majority relies on subjective opinions and preferences.

I only mentioned SOME people seem to put CF on a pedestal and I feel they regard it as almost a godlike item and feel/read it's blasphemy when you doubt the CF.
Don't feel addressed by it.
It's an analogy, you feel it's a poor one and I don't disagree, but it was the first one that popped up in my mind.

Take the religious analogy with a bit of salt. It's just an analogy. The analogy might be moot, but my point is salient and remains the same.

I PMed and offered to compare. I do think CF is a top tier cream. And i use it often. IMO it is one of the top two soaps in my rotation. Everyone is different and have different opinions. It normal. I just feel bad for people that dont understand how to get along with a soap as well as I do.
