Gentlemen,
Just as you will never go wrong with a Thater brush, you will always enjoy your shave with D.R. Harris products. Most of all, I fancy Arlington, Windsor, Marlborough and lavender. D.R. Harris soaps and creams excel in every element, from luxurious lather to fragrance. Good stuff.

Thanked: 3225Let me be the lone voice of dissent then. The DR Harris Arlington soap that I have never gave me that warm soft feeling for it that most have. Not that it is a bad soap in that the scent is nice and the lather decent but takes a bit of work to lather up. OTH I have other hard soaps that have a nice scent and give a decent lather for less work and cost. That last two points makes DR Harris soap a bit over rated for me. Classic case of TMMV.

Thanked: 3225Could be but it also could be operator error on my part. I have been spoilt by using Van Der Lovett shave soaps the past few weeks that for me lather easily, all the scents have been nice, produces a very decent lather and are less expensive unless You can get DR Harris at a good sales price. I'll have to give DR Harris another go for a week's worth of shaves and see if my opinion changes.

Thanked: 1081Bob, for me it takes a bit more effort too. I generally find that the longer I leave it to bloom the better the results. Even then I have to load up the brush for a good minute or so then really work the lather.
Great stuff once I get there though.

Thanked: 81I also find they take a bit longer to build a good lather, but I find it's worth the effort. Blooming is key. So for me they are special occasion soaps, when I can really take my time with the entire process.

I would add that DR Harris seems to be very efficient. This small sample is lasting a long time. I'm actually anxious to finish it so that I can try my new CBL Tonsorial 'Roasted Oatmeal Stout'. Made with Guiness !

The soaps are solid but the creams are better.
