    Default A & E Tertius

Tried a few soaps/creams last night.

The first was this Ariana Evens / Spanish Leather.

I'm not a fan of leather scents, however the i chose this one by the art work. The others were screaming No! at me

I found it slightly itchy and the fragrance to be awful , extremely potent . I went on to make lathers from 3 other creams but by the end i could still smell the Tertius.

The lather itself is great quality, especially if you want to turn your face into a Cake.

It may have put me off Artisan soaps for a while.

Saying all that though i'm sure some will adore this one..
    Cheers
    Joseph

Thanks for the note JOB15, I'm always curious about artisan soaps but tend to stick with tried and true like MDC, CF.

Performance of A&E Tertius is excellent, but I have to agree that the scent is not for everyone.

Also, for folks like you who live in Europe, getting some of the artisan soaps can be difficult. A large percentage of them are produced in the USA and Canada, although there are some produced in Europe and Australia.

I do have a tub of Saponificio Varesino Beta 4.3 from Italy in my collection. It is an outstanding soap. Since they have been producing soap since 1945, they can be considered a traditional soapmaker. However, like artisan soapmakers, they are working actively to improve the performance of their formulations. Their latest formula is quite good.

    Sounds good..
Recently i have made myself aware of the many YouTube channels reviewing soaps which has made me aware of all the popular artisan soaps. So when i saw A&E UK online i knew i would try some.
We are defiantly spoiled for choice with soaps n creams . Geographically UK & Italy has my interest for toiletries at the moment . I will keep my eyes peeled for Saponificio.
    Thanks

    Just an update.
I tried the A&E Tertius again. This time it really caused itching that lasted for a time afterwards. I tried some balm to ease the itching, eventually it passed.
Has any one any idea why it causes me itchiness?

Could be you are allergic to one of the ingredients. I think all soaps use essential oils for fragrance. Sometimes artisan soap makers haven’t controlled the concentration of one or more of those oils and that can lead to irritation for those folks with a specific sensitivity. Commercial soap manufacturers have much greater control over the production process and most likely have better overall quality control than small batch artisan startups.

Well, it clear to see. The Ad says "The soap for spanish shavers" and you are from England.
