I add 1 tube of Cremo each time I make a batch of my own shave cream. It does add a certain slickness and kind of softens the entire batch a little.
Otherwise, I would not use as a stand alone type cream. I guess if you were in a jam and that's all you had it would work. But you have to work that stuff a lot in a bowl to get a good lather!Semper Fi !

Thanked: 110My first experiences in to wet shaving was what i think a lot of us doing the same and that was the VDH kit from the local CVS, Walgreens, etc.. Has your DE Razor, mug, Soap puck, brush and stand.. Well it did not take long to go through that puck and Cremo cream i believe had just hit the marktet decided to use that instead.. After about 2-3 tubes i discovered as Bob said trying to use a brush was a total mess, Shave soap was much better and so was using a SR instead of a DE..
Fast forward a number of years to a few weekends ago.. Father in law passed somewhat sudden so my wife and i had to pack up quick and head to the Utopian City of Detroit for 4-5 days.. Did a great job of packing except i forgot shave soap or cream.. Off a few blocks to Walgreens and not a single soap!! Had to do what i had to do and grabbed a small tube of Cremo.. Well to my surprise after very slow and careful strokes i ended our stay with 3 fantastic shaves!! No nicks, not even a tiny weeper, super close after 3 passes and damn good post shave hydration
I dont know why i had to waste this long post on getting to the last few sentences about my last experience with Cremo? Ill blame in on the Bourbon .. Lol
Have a good rest of the weekend , Peace!!

I found the Cremo stick to lather quite well.
I don't normally face lather and subsequently haven't dialed it in yet, but I'm not getting the same slickness that the cream product gives me.

While at the store today I checked out the shaving section and they had the cream but not the stick.
It was my first try but I haven't had so much razor burn since the first time I tried a Rolls Razor.
I will give a few more tries but my first impression is negative.

Thanked: 110@Tim.. I should have edited my post about my recent experience with the Cremo tube.. I did get very good end results at the hotel the 3 times using it.. But when saying i was careful is an understatement.. It normally takes me 12-15min total on 2 passes and a little clean up.. The Cremo was 30-35min 3 lighter passes and cleanup.. The consentration and using way more than company directs made for shaving at that time stressful and bothersome... I was not too surprised with the good results on sideburns and cheeks but my neck, chin and stache area was a surprise... I did try it one morning after getting home and used as directed but toward a quarter sizte dollop on each side of my face and proceded to shave in my regular pattern and with longer, wider strokes..My end result turned my neck quite raw and had a number of nicks on jaw and upper lip.. Had to use a large amount of Nivea Post Shave balm for that one.. I have donated the rest of the tube to my wife as she thinks i will work good on her legs.. So i can not lie and say i have had a few good shaves with Cremo but it took a lot of time and work thats for sure.. The body lotion and hair conditioner would have done better for sure..
My guess Tim is that you will end up with that same razor burn the next time as well.. Hope for you im wrong though.... Let us know how it goes the next few times you use it
Good luck brorher !!

That last post is more along the lines of what ive found. I think the stuff will work in a pinch as in if your on vacation and dont have any good stuff with you. But besides that i only use Cremo on the stone for a lube. Like oil its slick but washes off. Great on the Arkies.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Just tried using Cremo cream scrubbed onto my face, then GF Trumpers cream layered over it. Nice shave. Baby smooth.
