Default utilize remnants of soap pucks

Rather than discard the soap cake when it is reduced to an unusable sliver I keep one lather bowl just for the purpose of utilizing the the last part of the soap cake. While all the bits and pieces form the base, everything from Williams hard to Proraso soft I add a dab of shave cream and mix up a great lather. Name: bowl and cover.jpg

Good idea. It’s been a long time since using all the soaps I weeded out. But I always sent them to the shower or the dogs bath. Now it’s only 3-4 and that’s all there will be.

    Guy: It's Jake... from State-Farm.
Wife: What are you lathering with, "Jake from State-Farm".
Jake: Uhhh... bits and pieces of old shaving soaps, with a dab of shave cream.
    Wife: That sounds hideous.
    Guy: Well, he's a straight-razor shaver, so...

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

I've got a container that is about half full. When it gets full I will start using it.

I foresee a potential source of frustration with this. What happens if you come up with a formulation you just love, but can never reproduce?

I guess it’s more about the journey than the destination.

BTW - I just finished a tub of TOBS Sandalwood shave cream. WIth the other soaps and creams I have, it took nearly 3 years to accomplish that. So, I tend to take soap remnants to the shower rather than try to recycle them.

I used to keep a remnants cup but it got so nasty looking I tossed it.

Now, I put the left over rings on top of the preshave cup.

Other sites call the combination of all those old soap bits clown puke..I haven't finished enough soaps yet to have a good clown puke puck / bowl yet.

Went for my shave last night and found i left the soap i wanted to use down stairs. So i grabbed the remnants cup and gave it a few swirls. Got a great lather from it. Must have been a mix of 3 or 4 different soaps.

    Nice!

I am Mike and I'm cheap.

When the collected bits look unusual, a trip to the microwave makes most of them easier to blend. I'm sure I've offended the olfactory sensitives among us. I said I was cheap.

I'm one of those people who doesn't like the food on the plate to touch. I use a different mug for each soap and the left over rings make an antiskid/mounting cushion for the new puck.
