Question Shea butter scented shave soap recommendations?

A request from the a family member: A shea butter-scented soap. I'll add, that is relatively easy to lather.

    Your recommendations?

My wife buys assorted things with Shea Butter from L'Occitane. She rates it quite highly. It might be available in the US. I've never used it personally. It's relatively expensive in the UK.

Is this shave soap? I realized my mistake in the title of my thread.

I looking for shave soap with that scent.

Sorry, welshwizard, the benevolent Obie has changed the title to prevent confusion.

    Thanks, Obie

Yeah. I know. I'm not sure either. "It smells like my deodorant or moisturizer". I thought Shea butter may have had a scent that I wasn't aware of...

Whatever makes this scent...lol. I'm way pushing it with this one. Suppose I'll have to go the sample route or something. It's the smell of this Jenkins moisturizer...

A good organic unrefined shea butter should have a 'nutty' smell. Some folks don't mind it, whereas others do.
I have never heard of a shave soap that smells like shea butter. I highly doubt you'll find one as the amount of shea butter needed in the soap would be minimal.
I have been using Mystic Water soap for over nine years and even with their Sensitive Skin (unscented), you can't smell the shea butter.
I would imagine that the only way to get a good soap with a shea butter scent would be to add a fragrance oil that mimics the scent.
Best of luck in your search.

So, I'm fighting this issue backwards. Keep the lotion for the scent and find a "non-scented" soap. I'm getting a nod of understanding...

Now for a non-scented soap, that if rejected, could go straight to me

That's probably your best solution. There are quite a few good unscented soap options.
    Good luck.

    Gentlemen,
I have never used a shave soap with shea butter fragrance. I don’t know what that is.
If you fancy shave soap with a good bit of shea butter (25%), Institute Karite is a good choice. It’s a quality soap and it has a pleasant floral fragrance. Good stuff.

I still have some cream. The smell is nice. Definitely a unique. Fresh feels like an overly used, broad term to describe scent. Yes, there is a certain freshness to it. This is my favorite thing about it.

Haven't used it in a while. I seem to remember it not lathering up all that well. Then again, that could just be the user.

ps-Obie, I've never used the soap. Have you used both? If so, what're the differences?
