Wilkinson black bowl soap spotted at Superstore
Around 20 years ago or so, I was pretty much using the Wilkinson black bowl soap with <spits> cartridge razors <spits> and went through a number of them. Loved it. At the time, if memory serves correctly, the blue bowls were introduced. Didn't like them at all. A few years later and the black bowls were hard to find, just the blue.
I was in the Superstore and noticed that the Wilkinson black bowl is back! I didn't get it, now i'm kicking myself for not. Have any others spotted it and recall it from back then? Anyone tried it yet?"But you're not as confused as him are you. I mean, it's not your job to be as confused as Nigel. "

Thanked: 3225Haven't seen the black bowl Wilky but iirc the black bowl shave soap from way back had silicone in the formula and that is not put in soap anymore by law. I would doubt the new black bowl version is the same formula as the original version. I'd like to try it to see if it is any better than the blue bowl version.
If you want to try a shave stick, the Wilkinson one performs very well. Makes you wonder why the blue bowl version of the shave soap is a mediocre performer.

Thanked: 1081The Wilkinson Sword black bowl soap is what I used to use about 20 years ago too. That and the cheap WS brush performed well enough to make me realise that I never wanted to use canned goo again.

If anyone's interested, the Wilkinson Black Bowl Soap is available on Amazon and it's cheap as chips.
