Default Taylor of Old Bond Street

I have just bought and used a jar of their shaving cream in a store in Antwerp.
It gave me a signifficantly smoother shave than with my usual lather.

Of course that is just a one-off test so I might need a couple more to see if this result can be repeated and (importantly) if my skin doesn't itch when I use it.

Most lathers and creams do that (i have a sensitive skin), and I felt some itching on my upper lip, but that could have been a result from being too enthousiastic with the boar hair brush.

I like the St James. It gives me shaves as smooth as my best other creams but not markedly better.

I think it was coconut. At first I thought 'coconut? me?' but is is very subtle and smells really fresh.

    I like 'Shaving Shop' - it's a real, nice, old-timey barber scent.

It's great if you want to smell like a real, old-timey barber.

If not....well.....it might not be for you.

    YMMV (...d-u-u-u-u-h-!!!...)

I enjoy the Sandalwood and just got a tub of Rose, and I think it smells great. Also just got some Trumper's Violet for comparison (and variety), but I have been pleased with the Taylor products.

Hmm, I thought that getting into straight razor shaving would save me money because of not buying blade refills, but the allure of these various creams, etc. is too much...

I have Avocado, Limes & Rose from Taylor's, and I just love the avocado. I understand there are people who hate the scent, but I like it, and I think it makes terrific lather.

Can't say I'm a fan of the rose though, I've used it once or twice but think I'll sell it on to someone.

I have St James, Mr Taylors and Rose. Shaving shop and Avocado? Both are on my wish list.
