As long as I keep trying different soaps and creams, I may as well pass on information to you who also suffer from SAD. These are more on the negative side, though.... (I feel this info would serve you best, than just give you the positive reviews):

1) Olivia's Soaps, http://www.olivia-seife.de/menshaving.htm The name of the web site is actually "Die-Rasierseifen". It's German, I believe. I bought three products from her:

a. King Kong - a 100 gm bar of S/S @ 5,00 Euro. I wouldn't recommend this product. It was a little work getting lather(not much lather, either) plus not much body or thickness to the lather. Not a lot of cusion and not slippery enough.

b. Crema Sapone Cella - a very soft almond scented shave soap. 4,00 Euro for 100 gm. This was a very good soap! Lather was good! Good cushion and nice and slippery. My only problem was the scent. Almond? It smelled more of tallow, like unscented candles. All info on this product was written in Italian, and I suspect this is a product she just distributes.

c. Arko Shave Cream tube - 100 gm @ 3,00 Euro. I just wanted to try this one. It was okey, I'd give it a good mark, but just average. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it again. There are many more creams out there that are better.

2) Canyon Creek Soap Company - This is a company that sells mostly hand and bath soaps. They offer one Shave soap, Peppermint/Lavender, a 4 oz bar @ $4.50. This bar makes a lot of lather, very nicely scented. Problem: It's mostly air. Absolutely no body, no slip, nothing! It will go in the pile with other shave soaps that failed, and become a hand or shower soap. Don't buy it!

3) Heavenly Harvest - Their #SH014 a goats milk S/S, Cinnamon/Orange, approx. 4 oz @ $7.50 per bar. As above, lots of lather, but nothing there. No body, no cushion, not slippery. Don't buy!

* I gotta quit doing this! I know this is how we find great things, but enough is enough. I have enough good soaps & creams to last me a long time:

Anything by: Mama Bear, Colleen, Taylor's, Trumper's, Dr.Harris, and Charles @ QED. + C&E's Nomad s/c, Proraso s/c, Floris s/s, Tabac s/s, (I know I've left out some...) etc., etc.

Regards,

Steve
