    Default Trumpers skin food

I've only started using this stuff recently (the limes version - coral (rose) is a little girly for me). I must say it really is the bees boll*cks!
Doesn't seem to make too much difference to the lather with cream but you definitely feel a difference.
What really astounded me was the difference it made to my lathers from soap (TOBS lavender).
I make lather from an almost dry brush and soap so it has lots of water. This has given me good results before but with the skin food it really fells like I'm using a cream. Very impressed indeed!

I love the limes skin food. Like you, the coral was too sweet. I use it almost every day. I put it on right after my shower, so my face stays moist while I prepare my lather. A little dab is all you need. I use soap exclusively, so I can't compare with creams.

Before I ran out of my limes skin food sample, I used it with GFT Coconut oil cream and it made one of the best shaves I have ever had. I too used it as a pre-shave skin treatment and then applied the shave cream over the top. Since I ran out of GFT skin food I have been using Alba shave cream as a pre skin treatment and have been getting the same great results.

Eric, it is an aftershave balm but it's also recommended as a pre-shave.

    Jim... you think I'm sweet?

Hm, I hate to think I'm the girliest guy around but I love the CSF

Never use it as a pre-shave, only after. Works well, scent disappears quickly so I'm not walking around smelling like a rose garden or something. To me both CSF and LSF have some chemical residue, but Limes much more so than Coral. So I stock only CSF.

For the record, people add some glycerine for lather, as I hear, with the same results and smaller expenditures. Less class, too - for sure.

    Cheers

do you apply glycerine to the face like a pre-shave or is it mixed into the lather? I'm sure you could find a nice glass bottle or something to jazz it up

i just read a review on CST on B&B and the concensus seemed to be that this stuff is good, but medeocre compared to other products

I'm another CSF fan. My bottle is almost empty
I love the scent. I find it to be more of a "sealer" than a balm. If I've had a rough shave, this isn't the stuff that's going to cool you off.

One of my fave shaves is:
    QED wild rose soap
    Thayers rose witch hazel
    CSF

Now... believe it or not, I'd actually like to find an EDT that's like the CSF.

    Hey... quit staring.
Alright alright... I'll have a future shave and use Pinaud Clubman to redeem myself.

They apply some on top of the soap and make lather, afaik.

B&B - what can I say, different people and different skin - no surprise there. Someone there also said that Musgo Real ASB smells like grass and is the one to have - I got it and it's nothing like grass to my nose; performance is OK but nothing stellar for me too.

CSF: performance-wise Brian is right, it won't fix a rough shave.

    Cheers

Another fans of CSF, I like it after then shave only...Like the scent alot, but I like most Rose scents....the wife approves too

The CSF is a little sticky sometimes and therefore, I do not use it all that often, it usually gets use when I use other Rose scented products

    YMMV
