Thanked: 0Best fun with suds ever for $1.50
On the way home from work last week I purchased a block of tea tree goats milk soap that also contains glycerin from an alternative health food shop. I had a really bad shave today with my DE, cutting my upper lip badly so wanted to touch up tonight with my favourite wedge. I lathered up in a bowl using the tea tree soap and noticed while it lathered up quickly it lacked body so I added half a teaspoon of Lush's Ambrosia shaving cream (which I only ever use as a "shave oil" its bad to shave alone with)
Well It was great lather, awesome infact. At $1.50 plus a dollop of Ambrosia, it makes me wonder what the big deal is about shaving creams and soaps that cost $50 dollars or more. For 50 dollars I want more then lather!

While I am new to straight razors, I have been shaving with soap/cream and a brush and bowl since my dad taught me how to shave. My wife makes goat milk soap and for some reason it never occurred to me to try it out for use shaving... about a week ago I thought of it and gave it a shot and boy was I impressed!
The lather is a little 'limp' but it left my face feeling great. I'm not going to toss out my other soaps and creams or anything, but if you guys happen upon a bar of goat milk soap you ought to give it a try... looks like that ladies are on to something here.
