lol...the things we do for our shaves.
I happen to be a bowl floater....well untill I happen to get a scuttle that I am willing to use. I am starting to collect them and am not willing to use a antique.....yet.

This is what I have been using here lately and is a little more convenient than the hotpot. I think it is called a Daisy cup warmer. It has a switch in the cord and a power light in the front. It keeps the lather fairly warm through the whole shave. Put the bowl back on the warmer in between passes.
bjDon't go to the light. bj

Coffee Anyone?
OK, here's what I do. It works and it uses heat I'm already generating, so I'm not using any extra energy. I put my mug on top of my drip coffee maker while I shower. I put a plastic coaster on top of the mug so no heat will be lost. By the time my shower is done, so is my coffee and my soap is heated. If it's not warm enough, as sometimes happens in our frigid NH winters, I turn the mug upside down in the sink and let the hot water run on it for a short time. (I've had the idea to get a stainless steel bowl that fits in the top of a coffe mug and using the coffee cup as a scuttle. But I wouldn't want any soap to spill over into my coffee -- since I don't use cream.)

The method of floating the mug with lather in the hot sink did not keep my lather warm...maybe I did it wrong? but there's only one way to do it lol
