Default William's Mug Soap lather drying too quickly

I use William's because I just started shaving with a straight a few weeks ago, and the lather seems great, but it dries up WAY too quick. Is it just the soap? Or my technique?

I let my brush soak in hot water, then take it out, shake it off once or twice, and start lathering up in my mug.

    Is this incorrect?

It's the soap. Williams consumes much more water for its lather than most others, and the lather still dries very quickly. A lot of people would suggest not oly frequent relathers, but some also say to re-load the brush with soap frequently.

I used to have my lathers dry rather quickly. Now I strop my blade, then hop in a hot shower with the door closed. The shower gets the bathroom nice and humid, and that has helped keep the lather wet longer.

I had an issue with this when I first started straight shaving, but recently I've been spending more time working up a good lather and it does a good job staying wet. I really enjoy William's and the scent. It would also probably help to add some glycerin or shave cream to make a super/uberlather.

Those who do say that KMF works great. Cheap, a number of scents and readily available. I doctored my Provence Sante` for my first Uberlather today using glycerin. Oy vey did it work well, I may have to do that more often.
