I've never tried the Trumpers Cream but the soap is great stuff.

Thanked: 953I have the GFT Rose Cream, GFT Rose Soap, QED Wild Rose Soap, and used up a tub of Taylor Rose Cream.
GFT Cream - this was far and away my favorite soap or cream for half a year and then I just lost interest. Not sure why - maybe my tastes changed as I bought more and more products. But it's very good and smells nice, but is over-dyed and the smell is very concocted.
GFT Soap - nice stuff. understated scent, slick lather. I don't love the cushioning but it's a great soap.
QED - NICE SCENT. And I love the QED performance. My favorite rose product so far.
Taylor Rose - understated nice scent. If I started over I'd get this and not the GFT Cream.

I love Taylor's Rose, but it's not a pure rose smell.
Saint Charles Shave Savory Rose is extremely rosy. The creams can be difficult to lather, but it's definitely very rosy.

Thanked: 174What does a real rose smell like?
Well from my experience most roses don't smell anything like the essence of rose used in toilet soaps and pefumes.
So when you say you want a soap or cream that smells of a real rose, that scent is whatever you have in your mind of what a rose smells like and you will have to search for that scent yourself.
I have noticed that there are many highly scented toilet soaps called rose which I regard as feminine scents. They usually smell of Damask rose essence which is very strong.
My father used to often put a rose in his button hole and I remember the scent well. It was never sweet, never sickly never strong but always fresh delicate refined and quite masculine. Trumpers rose soap comes pretty close to this childhood memory for me. But it's the only one that I have tried that does. Trumpers rose cream doesn't have the same scent neither do the Taylor's products. They are too sweet smelling.
I'd go for a puck of Trumpers rose soap first and see how you go. It's inoffensive and the scent does not linger on the skin. It's also got the advantage of being one of the best shaving soaps you can buy giving the ideal protection for a straight razor and leaving the skin with a neutral clean shaven feel. Many other shaving soaps will oil the skin or nourish it in some way. Trumpers rose is quite special in that it is almost totally neutral.
Well that's my take.

I have some of this
Shaving Soaps, Creams, Lotions & Toiletries
And I think it's got a good rosy scent to it.. Haven't tried the others out there though, so not sure how it stacks up.
