Mama Bear's Soaps

I just placed my first order from Mama Bear's. I can only hope they live up to half the praise that they receive in the forums.

I used my Mama Bears Pearberry for the first time yesterday, it was divine!!! It lives up to it's name and reputaion.

I make my own shave soap, and it works rather well IMHO, but that hasn't stopped me from keeping a good selection of Mama-Bear's soaps on hand.
It's nice to have variety, and you won't be dissapointed with anything you get from mamabear.

Besides which, the lady has class. When I started selling my soap, she was very helpful with suggestions about packaging, labeling, she even gave me several soap molds. Next time you're shopping for soap, throw her a line, and tell her what you like, she knows her scents inside and out, and will steer you to your next favorite.

For me Mama bear gets Two thumbs up.

I just purchased the lime and Tuscan Memories both of which are fantastic! Does anyone have a suggestion on how to build up a good lather with these soaps? I get pretty good lather in the soap dish but suspect I am missing out on getting a richer lather by using a scuttle or bowl.

Any suggestions?

The amount of water depends on your brush, I use a cheap silvertip brush, and water that is close to boiling. soak the brush, as well as your mug scuttle, whatever. when you are ready to lather, pour the water out of your mug, and let all of the water run off of your brush. if there's a little left, that's okay, I usually give the brush a little flick into the mug.
swirl the brush in the soap until it is well loaded, and starts to form a lather, then move to your mug.
do not lift your brush, keep it close to the bottom of the mug, swirling and pumping the lather until it is reasonably well developed, and then move to your face.
It should be good and hot, and you can continue to build lather on your face as needed.
Pretty simple, but gives good results. and the lather should still be warm for a second pass.

Just remember you can always add water, it's harder to add soap.

Sue's soaps are imho some of the best out there. I recently got a tub of pure Neroli EO soap she made for us over on B&B and it is truly truly magnificent. Another must have for me is the citrus basil. Completely divine!

Rosemary mint. I'm pretty much a cream guy now, but the one soap I'll always have on hand is Mama Bear's rosemary mint. That stuff is too wonderful not to use.

For me, the mamma bear stuff, i put a layer of hot water in the mamabear pot, jump in the shower, when i get out the layer has softened the top of the soap good for loading into the brush.

i also have tuscan memories and its awesome!
