Thanked: 953Nancy Boy Shaving Cream
I'm one shave from finishing my first jar of Nancy Boy, so I wanted to give a shout out what I think is the best shaving cream for straight razors (ironically, given the name). I've got (or used up) JMFraser (also great with straights), Castle Forbes Limes, Speick, GFT Rose, Lime, Almond and Violet, TOBS Mr. Taylor, Rose, Almond, T&H Ultimate Comfort, AOS Lavendar, Proraso, Musgo Real, C&E Nomad and SAO.
For me, the best shaving cream for straight razors has been without question Nancy Boy. The others are great too. Soaps are a different animal so I won't compare.
But if you havent tried Nancy Boy I recommend it.

Thanked: 335So louee,
Did you finger it on and around, or finger it on and brush it around, or lather it up in an approved container and brush it on and around? And it smells like?? And the lather is luxuriant and ultimately slippery like a Castle Forbes or somewhat thin but remarkably efficacious like a Speick?
The curiuos are... curious.

Thanked: 953I take a glob out with my finger (more than I would for a cream designed for use with a brush), put it in my plastic lather bowl, get the brush damp, swirl it around (it develops a nice thick lather, but doesn't explode in volume like a cream designed for that), then brush on face and have at it.
Lather is very slick- for me slicker than CF.
Ingredients are very very good, and it shows in how your skin feels afterwards.
Efficaciousness through the roof. I get a BBS shave on two passes. For whatever reason it promotes a very close shave. I have been told this is impossible, but it seems to hold the hair up better, so every pass takes a lot of hair with it. I think it's the only cream I find works as well as the best soaps when using a straight.
Scent: either peppermint/lavendar/rosemary ("signature scent"), which is kind of a natural smelling proraso smell, or cucumber ("replenishing scent"). Both are subtle and very nice.
The customer service is good too - if you join the club and order a certain amount you usually get something for free. Body soaps great too by the way.
But if I could only bring one shaving cream to an island, it would be Nancy Boy.

Gotta agree with you on the Nancy Boy Cream! Fantastic scent, great lather, moisturizing.......did
I leave anything out? Have used quite a few different creams and most very solid but don"t compare overall
with NB. .......Just my 3 cents!

PS Forgot to mention that the price is outstanding for what you get!

+1 on the Nancy Boy shaving cream. I finally broke down and ordered some, and the Signature Scent is now my fave shaving cream. They also shipped a sample of the cooling aftershave gel, which I really like. I may switch over to that 100% once my rose skin food runs out.

Another +1 on Nancy Boy. Great stuff. I use it at least once or twice a week, along with most of the most highly regarded (and MUCH more expensive) creams and soaps (mostly creams) out there.
Customer service is great, price is awesome. Looking forward to trying some of their other products.

I've got to get over there. I told my wife about it, who works a block from their store, and I'm hoping she's going to bring me home something.
