Help me pick Gentlemens quarter samples!
Hey guys/gals,
I'm hearing too much good about TGQ soaps and I want to get one of their sample packs to find out what I like. For 16 bucks, you get to pick two creams and five soaps.
The options can be found at this link:
Customer Comments, criticism, encouragement
I have no idea why it says customer comments and criticism.... it takes you to the samples page.
One thing I don know, is what size the sampes are. 1 ounce? more or less? How long will one little sample piece last?
The oak/moss doesn't sound to great to me, and Clubman Pinaud smells pretty bad to me, the few times I've smelled it in Rite Aid or CVS.... if that helps your recommendations at allLast edited by Ben325e; 12-11-2008 at 04:56 AM.

I just received the following TGQ samples in the mail today so I can only go off smell alone rather than performance:
Bay Rum with Sweet Orange soap
Leatherneck soap
Orange Patchouli soap
Lemon Verbena soap
Sandalwood Vanilla soap
Lavender cream
Black Cavendish cream
Out of all of the above, IMO the Lavender cream and the Leatherneck soap have the strongest scents prior to lathering. I washed my hands with the Leatherneck to try on skin anyway and I like the scent and it's stayed with me a solid 3 hours now.
There is not one of the 7 that I find harsh or offensive in any way and I look forward to using them all.
I'm also going to keep track of how many actual shaves each sample of soap and cream give me and I'll post that on the boards if that info helps others.

I really like the Bay Rum with Sweet Orange, Desert Ironwood and the Sandalwood Vanilla.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 95I've only tried the following, but they where great performers:
Desert Ironwood soap - absolutely love it
Black Cavendish soap - was a little hard on my skin, but it's mentioned in the description.
Highlander cream - it took some experimenting to get it working but it's a nice cream.

I like them all, but the lemon Verbena didn't seem to keep its lather as well as the others. That one I'd leave further down on you list.
