    Default Not Feelin' The Lube...

    Hello Gents!
Almost Four weeks in and still not able to really get my tub of Nomad to slick up my face. Foam is tight, watching the water, hot no dry shower prep and still just not "Smooth". Getting BBS but I re-apply allot.
Killing it with the HH test at (3) points of the blade, better than ever as a matter of fact (so stropping is good I assume).
Really like the smell but have had my heart broke before. Move on, something better out there? Or just newbie issue...

    Love this Sport!!

Are you wetting your face before each time you apply lather? Seems to be the right thing to do.

I haven't tried Nomad, but Taylor's of Old Bond Street creams certainly seem to give EZ-mode lathering. I like the rose scented one, reminds me of rose-flavoured turkish delight.

Is the air rather dry where you are? It is for me, so I only apply lather to about half my face at a time, otherwise it drys out.

You could also try adding something into your cream lather, like a few drops of glycerin or some similarly scented (or un-scented) soap. A quick search for "uberlather" should give you some ideas (or look through the Shave Of The Day section for a post by Glen).

The AOS creams also lather real easy, you almost don't need the brush... Check out my review for more info...

For me, soap or cream with no lubrication is a sure sign that I've overworked it. Face lathering solved that for me.

Maybe some kind of preshave oil would help.

You might want to research that a little bit. My shaves changed immediately after I started using preshave oil, although many people haven't had the same results I have.
I have a coarse beard, and I think the little bit of oil works wonders.
