Thanked: 0Shave Cream For Extremely Sensitive Skin
I got skin on my face that is terribly sensitive. I also live in a dry and cold place, so I usually have dry/chapped skin (even with moisturizing), and that doesn't help. Every cream i have put on really irritates it.
I bought a couple shave creams recently that were labeled for sensitive skin, and even they made my face irritated, and it turned beat red and sore.
So I probably need the most sensitive, fragrance/perfume free stuff on the market. Probably made of natural ingredients.
What creams would be safe to use for me?

Don't use shave cream. Buy some Williams shave soap and a good quality beaver brush to make up a good lather with hot water in a cup. While you're soaking the brush in the hot water with the soap, dip a face cloth in good hot water and hold it to your face for a couple minutes. Then brush the lather on and let it sit on your face for a minute or so before shaving. Put more lather on if necessary when you start and then more on the second side of your face when you get there. All this softens your beard and reduces the stress on your skin. Takes a bit more time but it's a smoother shave and the relaxation you get from slowing down is worth it.

TAoS has some unscented stuff that's really nice, I tried the cream this morning (look in the review section thread for the upcomming review), their shave oil also helps with dry skin (best moisturizer effect I've ever seen, there is a review in the same thread).
I think their unscented line is marketed as hypoallergic, which would be good, but don't quote me on that as I'm not 100% certain.
EDIT: After just feeling my face I have to say that the cream on it's own also has something of a moisturizing effect...

Thanked: 0All good suggestions. I'm going to investigate the soaps further. Maybe the local health store might have something, if not I'll try one of those brands
And i used to use a moisturizer cream (Cetaphil) and shaved while i was in the shower. I applied it after the shower as a daily moisturizer as well and my skin was used to the PH after daily use. But it pretty much ruined each razor with the gunk. I can't use that with a straight razor anymore though.
Hopefully i can find a soap.

Thanked: 13249I have a pretty sensitive skin issue also, one of the reasons I used a straight in the first place,,, Prep is even more important than the soap or cream assuming no allergic reactions... But I would second the Mitchell's Wool Fat suggestion as it is the best I have ever found for my skin YMMV of course...

Thanked: 0Does anyone know of any Canadian online stores, or retail places that carry Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap?
To order it from anywhere else will be like 25$ for shipping on-top of the regular sales price

Check that first, most online vendors don't charge even half that for shipping US to Europe...

Thanked: 95I've read that this Kent soap actually are Mitchell's Wool Fat, and the item is located in Canada. Connaught Shaving in the UK has low shipping prices, and fast delivery atleast to Norway.
